Prototype Rooms
The process as space. Matter as experience between resin and glass.
Experiences April 2026
A project curated by me for Milan Design Week 2026, in collaboration with Azimut Design, OOM Glass and Gemello Digitale. Via Voghera 14, Milan.
Not an exhibition, but a staging of the process: materials, surfaces and prototypes guide visitors through the project’s development stages, from the initial gesture to the definition of space.
CONCEPT
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, Prototype Rooms interprets the theme Essere Progetto / Be the Project, transforming design into an open, dynamic and relational process. No longer a finished object, but an evolving experience: a system in which matter, space and the individual enter into continuous dialogue, generating new design possibilities.
The project makes visible what normally remains hidden — research, prototyping, experimentation — redefining the relationship between creation and fruition, and shifting the focus from the result to the journey.
THE PROJECT
Inside the Voghera 14 studio in Milan, the space is transformed into a laboratory of elements, where resin and glass become design and narrative tools.
Project partners include two outstanding names from the Italian artisanal landscape: Azimut Design, specialising in the processing of epoxy resin, and OOM Glass, active since 1987 in the thermoforming and decoration of glass.
The journey tangibly conveys the value of custom made, highlighting the continuous dialogue between design, production and communication.
Alongside this physical dimension is the digital one, with Gemello Digitale, introducing immersive simulations and new ways of designing, presenting and experiencing space.
RITUAL CIRCUITS, THE INSTALLATION BY AZIMUT DESIGN
The main new launch presented by Azimut Design is RITUAL CIRCUITS, a collection of seven trays/centrepieces in epoxy resin and mirrored steel.
The forms, closed and continuous, evoke the geometry of electronic circuits, transforming the object into an active device conceived to accompany and reinterpret everyday gestures.
The tray — an archetype linked to service — thus becomes an element capable of connecting function and experience.
The collection unfolds as a chromatic and sensorial sequence that moves through different moments of the day — from Dawn Circuit to Neon Circuit — creating a fluid rhythm between light, matter and use.
After Milan Design Week 2026, the project will continue its journey at the Sina Centurion Palace on the Grand Canal in Venice: here the environmental installation, conceived as a deconstructed table setting, will continue to evolve in relation to the hotel’s spaces and guests throughout the period of Biennale Arte 2026.
“If virtual reality is now an established tool in design and architectural planning, in the art world it still represents a largely unexplored territory, especially when it comes to the promotion of emerging artists.”
THE NEW OOM GLASS COLLECTIONS
The main novelty is represented by Moonflower and Petal Collection, a wall furnishing solution composed of a modular arrangement of reflective thermoformed and hand-silvered surfaces.Available in different colours and diameters, the surfaces generate a visual rhythm that is light yet dynamic, constantly reacting to light and movement. The magnetic system allows the elements to be moved and recomposed, transforming the wall into an interactive and ever-evolving composition.
Created with the Italo-Chinese studio V10, the Rosoni collection takes shape from the mirror Rosone SMM 1481, the first piece in the series, inspired by the Venetian church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli. The collection will develop through a reinterpretation of various rose windows from Venetian churches, each translated into a unique object.
THE COLLABORATION WITH GEMELLO DIGITALE
Gemello Digitale introduces the possibility of creating immersive virtual replicas of spaces and objects, opening new perspectives for interiors, exhibitions and digital experiences, and redefining the relationship between physical space and representation. An experiment made possible thanks to my collaboration with artists Louis Jacquet and Antonio Alberti, whose works are now also accessible in virtual form.
AZIMUT DESIGN BIO
For over twenty years, an Italian excellence exploring the expressive and technical potential of epoxy resin, transforming it into a design material for architecture and interior design.
OOM GLASS BIO
Founded in Venice in 1987, OOM Glass specialises in the design and creation of bespoke glass elements for architecture and interiors, reinterpreting the Murano tradition through a contemporary language.
